PIDINVER India: 40 Investment opportunities for Spanish companies in India by ICEX

When ICEX, Spain's foreign trade institute, needed a first-hand picture of Indian industry to guide Spanish investment, it entrusted the fieldwork to INDOLINK: 40 companies audited on site, from automotive to textiles, across the whole of India.

Client: ICEX (Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade)
Scope: all of India, multi-sector
Services provided: consulting, diagnosis and audit of 40 Indian companies.

PIDINVER India was an ICEX programme created to identify, promote and support new investment initiatives for Spanish companies in the Indian market. For its central piece — first-hand knowledge of Indian industry — ICEX appointed INDOLINK to carry out the audit and diagnosis of 40 companies across sectors as diverse as automotive, electrical and electronics, energy, engineering, IT, textiles, oil and gas, and FMCG.

Our consultants travelled to each of the 40 companies, spread across the whole of India, spending a full day on site interviewing key staff. That fieldwork produced an individual report for every company, with detailed analysis of marketing and sales, operations and technology, people and finance, a SWOT analysis, concrete collaboration proposals and the risk factors of each potential partnership.

The conclusions were presented at three seminars — in Barcelona, Madrid and San Sebastián — under the title "PIDINVER: 40 investment opportunities for Spanish companies in India", attracting a strong turnout of companies interested in the Indian market. There, INDOLINK's director, Mario Gil, also presented the experiences of twelve Spanish companies already operating or setting up their subsidiaries in India, together with the process behind the 40 audits.
