MIJU S.A. is an SME from Zaragoza (Spain) that manufactures rubber components for the automotive industry — and the fastest manufacturing setup INDOLINK has delivered to date.
Its management's first contact with the Indian market took place at the Auto Expo trade fair in New Delhi. Within months, the strategic question was on the table: outsource production or set up a plant of their own? The analysis came down on the side of setting up — and in barely four months the subsidiary was incorporated, the land purchased, and the key staff selected and in training. Construction of the factory began that autumn; a few months later the machinery imported from the parent company was installed, and just two months after that the plant was supplying material to its customers.
Sixteen months in total: the time between first weighing the question — manufacture or outsource in India? — and an Indian subsidiary supplying its customers as a global provider.
